TOP 10 FAVOURITE SONGS WESTERN MUSIC ALL GENRES 2014 PART 3

The last two posts of these series posts are here and here. This is the last post of the series as here I will be adding the next four songs.

US AND THEM

Absorbing song.I remember the first time I listened to this. This was my first proper impression of Pink Floyd, the first song I listened to was Another Brick In the Wall (Part 1) followed by this. And I was in a complete realm of the thing.I thought about it for hours.Especially the last line left me hard stricken - "For the price of a tea and a slice, the old man died!".I could speak of nothing else for a day or two.The tune is good, instrumentals are even better,Lyrics is bravo, voice is David Gilmour (No more adjectives necessary).Lyrics here.

Us and Them - The First Impression of Floyd to me

THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD (Origianlly written by David Bowie)

This one is truly one of the best songs I have ever heard, keeping in mind the Kurt Cobain impact.I am not as big a fan of Nirvana as I am of Pink Floyd but Cobain definitely had potential. Lyrics and Perspectives here. You know, just it immediately instigated all my thoughts about the stars, this universe, souls, origin and everything of that sort. You have to love this song - its so much unique. The instrumentals are okay with a regular but attractive tune and the lyrics are just out of the world.

SPEED OF SOUND (From Soundtrack To The End)

I know you might not have heard about the song or the band. But I personally like them a lot. Its from Communist Daughter(Again,Thanks Houston Communist Party for introducing this) and recently they even liked my status on their wall on their Facebook Page! Elation and pleasure.I like the way they move through North America - watching, just WATCHING Bohemian life is feel-good to me.The Lyrics are great - just great. It almost got me off balance when I got them for the first time. The tune is not so special and the instrumentals are okay(I like Mollys harmony, anyway.) - the concern is the lyrics.Must listen at least once.

KNOCKIN ON HEAVENS DOOR

As per I have heard, this song was written by Che Guevara himself. And I personally prefer the Guns N Roses Version (I dont understand this band politically .What are they - right-wings extremist or anarchist or socialist,I dont know.)You can listen to the Bob Dylan version as well as he was the first one to compose the tune and get this into form of a song. Lyrics here. Please note that the last rap is added by Guns N Roses, its not there in the original version.I have a lot of emotions attached with this song.
